Artist Tiffani Williams has been juried into While It Lasts: An Intersection of Art and Nature, a group exhibition on view January 8 through February 22 at Lemon Street Gallery in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
Williams’ accepted work, Basking, is a soft pastel floral painting that captures the fleeting glow of sunset as it filters through blossoms. Delicate in both palette and execution, the piece reflects themes of impermanence, fragility, and quiet transformation—core ideas at the heart of the exhibition.
While It Lasts explores the intersection of art and nature, inviting viewers to consider time, change, and the beauty found in moments that cannot be held. Juried by Jillian Talarczyk, the exhibition features works by local artists, with select pieces paired with floral arrangements created by area florists. Over the course of the exhibition, both the artworks and floral installations will evolve together, forming a living reflection on impermanence and renewal.
“I’m especially excited to be part of this exhibition because Basking was created to honor a moment that exists only briefly—the way light softens, warms, and disappears,” said Williams. “This show celebrates that exact tension between beauty and transience.”
The exhibition opens with a public reception on January 10, featuring a free daytime drop-in art activity from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., followed by an evening reception from 6 to 9 p.m. with live music, food, and drink. A closing reception will be held on February 21, including interactive art projects, a DJ, and a live art auction. Proceeds from the receptions will support Lemon Street Gallery’s classroom renovation efforts.
