"Liberty" Original Painting

The Fourth of July was approaching, and I was feeling quite morose over the general state of America. The flag no longer means what it meant when I was a child, innocent in my love of this great nation. It’s been usurped by people who have twisted its meaning and stolen its colors. I almost didn’t paint this, but I decided that the flag doesn’t belong to one group, no matter how loud they are. It belongs to all of us.

The girl represents the child within me, the one who is hoping against hope that someday soon, we will see a return to not just normalcy, but excellence.

Painting measures approximately 7.5” × 10” and is matted to fit an 11” x 14” frame.
